Privacy Policy
Nomad China provides editorial guides for foreigners travelling to or living in China. This page explains what personal data we collect through this website, how we use it, and your rights under the EU/UK GDPR.
If you only read one paragraph:
This site has no accounts and no forms. We collect basic analytics about how you reached the site and which pages you read, and anything you choose to email us. We don't sell your data. To delete your record, email [email protected].
1. Who is the data controller

2. What data we collect
A. Data you give us directly:
- Whatever you put in an email to us (your address and your message).
B. Data collected automatically:
- UTM parameters from your URL, and which affiliate links you click
- Country and device type, via Google Analytics 4 with anonymized IP (when analytics is switched on)
- Standard server logs (IP, request time, page requested) kept for a short time for security
3. How we use it
- To answer your email. Legal basis: your request.
- To measure which content works. Aggregate analytics only. Legal basis: legitimate interest.
- To improve the site. No automated decision-making affecting you.
4. Who else processes your data
- Cloudflare Pages, static hosting and CDN. Privacy policy
- Cloudflare Email Routing, receives mail sent to our contact address and forwards it to a personal mailbox. Privacy policy
- Google Analytics 4, aggregated analytics with anonymized IP. Privacy policy
- Affiliate partners. If you click a paid link, the partner sets its own cookies under its own policy.
5. Your rights
EU/UK residents have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object, port, withdraw consent, and complain to a data protection authority. Email [email protected] to exercise any of these. We aim to respond within 30 days.
6. Cookies
Minimal cookies. When analytics is on, Google Analytics 4 sets `_ga` for aggregate measurement (anonymized IP). To opt out, install the Google Analytics opt-out.
